SLUG Says...

Our pals at SLUG are always generous with their coverage of the BB--thanks!

If there was a homemade or crafting mecca, I think it would have to be in Utah County. Those ladies have been perfecting the art of DIY for generations. It’s bred into them from their pioneer roots—canning, scrapbooking, quilting and knitting.  The Beehive Bazaar takes the best of the crafting traditions, like handmade Christmas stockings and homemade jams, and throws in trendy jewelry, repurposed clothing and the latest in one-of-a-kind kids’ clothes. My girl friends and I make a pilgrimage each year to the land of plenty (children and crafts that is). My $18 bee necklace has been the envy of many people over the years and a staple in my wardrobe. Now located at the Bell Room on the the corner of University and Center Street in Provo, The Bazaar takes place Thurs., Dec. 8, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Fri., Dec. 9, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m and Sat., Dec. 10, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. For more details, friend them on Facebook."

Holiday 2011 Young Crafters...

Once again, our Young Crafters have lots to share.Check them out...

Kinsley Lewis, Jade and Sage Redden

  • We are three sisters that love to be creative.  We would like to make headbands, pom pom hair elastics, flower hair clips, and cards with our art on them that can be colored. We may even come up with  fun coloring books of our artwork. Kinsley is 11, Jade is 9, and Sage is 7.

AnnieBlue

I have been doing art ever since I could hold a pencil. Most of what I do is people-- girls really. My art has sort of a twisted Alice-In-Wonderland feel to it. I do cartoons for bedrooms, little old ladies, and gothic. . . . anything really. I do a pretty broad range, so if you need me to do something for you, chances are I'd be delighted. I am twelve years old and live in PG, UT.

Eli, Isabel & Asher

Eli, 11, Isabel, 8, and Asher, 6, are entrepreneurs at heart, and among the most crafty kids I know.  They craft constantly, and carefully chose their crafts for this event.

Young Crafters...

We are excited to include our Young Crafters again this season. Here is a sneak peek of what they have to share. Cloe, Brody and Abbey Brown

They will be making fish-in-a-bag soap and cupcake bath bombs.  Cloe is 8 and loves to write stories and writes some pretty impressive stories.  She loves to make things with her hands and be creative and enjoys playing soccer and basketball.  Brody is 7 and enjoys playing sports, soccer is his favorite and likes to play super hero games.  He is always making weapons and his favorite game is Indiana Jones.  Abbey is 5 and is a total character.  She loves fashion and always has her hair fixed with way too many hair bows.  She loves animals and riding her bike with the neighbor kids.

Noah Schmitz

Hi! My name is Noah Schmitz. I am fourteen years old. I have always wanted to be a computer guy like my Dad when I grow up. A few years ago I built my own computer out of spare parts, but it wasn't very fast. I have been saving my money to buy my own computer for a couple of years now, and last summer I came up with the idea that I could make rubber band guns to sell. I sold some at farmer's markets and festivals this summer, and am well on my way to meeting my goal. Thank you.

Reed Sisters

We are the Reed Sisters, last year there were 2 of us, but this year we are going to let our little sister in on the business as well. Here is a little bit about us:

Bronwyn Reed: I am the oldest sister, I love sock monkeys, Paris and most anything vintage. I like to be in musicals and I take voice lessons. I am on a swim team and in my spare time I love to craft with my mom and sisters. I am 10. Bronwyn is going to make some masks that she has an idea for.

Brooklyn Reed: I am the middle sister. I love to play school and I want to be a second grade teacher someday. I also take ballet and was just cast in the "Nutcracker" so I am in rehearsals for that. I love to draw and write notes. I also love to craft with my mom and sisters. I am 7.  Brooklyn and Bella will also be making some fairy wands.

Bella Reed: I am the youngest sister. I love to swim and play soccer. I also love to glue and make things. I am happy that my older sisters are letting me in on their little business this year. I am 5.  The three of us will be making bottle cap necklaces.

And the vendors are...

Dear everyone, This was possibly the most difficult time we've ever had choosing vendors for the show--so many applicants and so much talent--wow.

As with every show we try to keep our magic ratio just right:

50% Beehive veterans +        50% new vendors +        As little duplication as possible +        Totally handmade, unique and quality        --------------------------------------------------        = What we always hope will be the best craft show you've ever attended.

This means that even crafters we absolutely adore have to warm the bench sometimes while others get a chance to play. So, we hope those people who didn't make it in this year will be sure to apply for the next show-- don't give up!

Now, without further ado, we're pleased to announce the roster for the Holiday 2010 Beehive Bazaar:
